All scientific articles submitted to the journal undergo mandatory peer review, the purpose of which is to ensure the high quality of publications, the reliability of research results, and their relevance to the scientific profile of the journal.
The journal applies a double-blind peer review procedure, in which authors do not know the identity of the reviewers, and reviewers do not have information about the authors of the manuscript. This approach ensures objectivity and impartiality in the evaluation process.
The peer review process includes several consecutive stages.
At the first stage, the manuscript undergoes an initial editorial review. The article is checked for compliance with the journal’s thematic scope, formatting requirements, structure of scientific work, and standards of academic integrity. A plagiarism check is also carried out. In case of significant inconsistencies, the manuscript may be returned to the author for revision or rejected without further review.
After successfully passing the initial screening, the manuscript is sent for peer review. The Editor-in-Chief or an authorized member of the editorial board assigns at least two independent reviewers with appropriate scientific specialization.
When selecting reviewers, their academic qualifications in relation to the topic of the article, the presence of relevant scientific publications, academic degree or significant research experience, as well as the absence of conflicts of interest with the authors are taken into account. Adherence to the principles of academic integrity and professional ethics is an essential requirement.
Reviewers provide an expert evaluation of the manuscript, focusing on the relevance and scientific novelty of the research, the soundness of the methodology, the reliability of results, the logic of presentation, and overall compliance with scientific standards.
The review period is usually 15–25 days from the moment the manuscript is received. If necessary, it may be extended upon agreement with the editorial board.
Reviews are prepared in written form and submitted via email. They include a professional assessment and recommendations regarding the further fate of the article.
Based on the received reviews, the editorial board or Editor-in-Chief makes a decision regarding the manuscript: acceptance for publication, acceptance after minor revisions, request for substantial revision with re-review, or rejection.
If necessary, the author is sent reviewers’ comments for revision of the manuscript. The revised version must be submitted within a specified period and may, if needed, be sent for additional review.
After a positive decision is made, the article is transferred to the editorial and publishing stage, which includes copyediting, proofreading, and layout preparation.
